CWCF is growing!  We are thrilled to report that in the last few months, five new worker co-op members have joined.

(1) THAAT Co-op; www.thaat.coop. (“The Hammer Active Alternative Transportation Co-operative Inc.”). 

The Hammer Active Alternative Transportation Co-operative Inc. (THAAT Co-op) is a Hamilton, Ontario based sustainable, emission-free delivery service.  We are focused on the safe, efficient and timely delivery of products in a manner that contributes to strong and vibrant local economies, thriving and liveable communities, and a healthy and sustainable natural environment.

(2) Unite Strategy Digital Marketing Worker Co-op, Saskatoon, SK; www.unitecoop.com

Unite is one of the first Marketing Worker Co-operatives in Western Canada.  This model helps us deliver high quality marketing solutions by bringing together highly experienced professionals in marketing, strategy, social media, design, web development, video production, and other services on-demand.  Our mission is to help positive messages spread and purpose-driven organizations succeed through strategic marketing, creative ideas, and high-quality media.

(3) LeftHand Media Co-op, Burnaby, BC ; www.lhmc.ca

LeftHand Media Co-op is a co-operative of artists and technologists specializing in the development of media content and the promotion of progressive organizations.  The LeftHand Media Co-op stated that it was delighted to be the first workplace in the country to sign a union contract with Unifor, the result of the merger of Canadian Auto Workers and the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers of Canada.  The Co-op’s services include web and graphic design, writing, workshop development, and organizing.  It has members in BC and Alberta.

(4)  Victory Gardens Co-op; www.victorygardensvancouver.ca.  

Victory Gardens, a worker co-op in Vancouver, BC, is a team of urban farmers for hire who help people grow food.  We build gardens, we teach people how to grow food in them, and we will grow food for those who like the idea of having home-grown food in their yard but don’t have the time to do it themselves.  Victory Gardens offers an alternative to ornamental landscaping, incorporating edibles into all types of environments:  rooftops, patios, or front and back yards.

5)  Viridian Energy Co-op, Duncan, BC.  www.vecoop.ca

Viridian Energy Co-op is a worker co-op providing design, installation and consulting for renewable energy systems and energy recovery, conservation systems.  Our driving purpose is the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on fossil fuels.
