The solidarity economy has a coherent, community-based, international vision, based on co-operative principles and values. It deliberately reaches out to likely (co-ops and credit unions) and unlikely allies (e.g., small businesses), and is very congruent with CWCF’s vision, mission and values. Collaborating with the solidarity economy on issues of mutual concern is a key part of CWCF’s Strategic Plan, with the desired outcome of building solidarity with other economic, social and environmental allies, and creating and communicating a long-term socio-economic vision that is a sustainable alternative to capitalism and the growth of precarious work. This is a new and still developing area and resources will be added as they become available.
