Board Nominations
CWCF is seeking nominations for its board of directors. Serving on the CWCF Board is a great opportunity to help guide the worker co-op movement in this country and for networking with other worker co-operators. To be eligible to run, you must be a worker-member of a CWCF Regular Member (worker co-op or multi-stakeholder co-op with substantial worker control), be nominated by a Regional Federation (currently only in Quebec), or be a developer member or Friend of CWCF. To reflect its commitment to justice, equity, diversity, decolonization, and inclusion, CWCF encourages nominations from equity-denied groups.
There are two seats up for election at the 2025 AGM:
- Prairies/NWT/Nunavut Director (3-year term)
- Atlantic Director (3-year term)
Nominations are requested by October 27th, but are open up to and including on the floor of the AGM. There are currently no candidates for the Atlantic position. Nominations can be sent to the Nominating Committee members Daphane Nelson and Kelly Storie, copying Executive Director Hazel Corcoran.
AGM Resolutions
Resolutions for the CWCF AGM in November are due on September 19th, for the AGM which will take place in Edmonton on November 19th. Please see the CWCF Resolutions process, including the Resolutions Form on the last page, at this link. Please submit resolutions to Resolutions Committee members Daphane Nelson and Kelly Storie, copying Executive Director Hazel Corcoran.
Worker Co-op Award Nominations
CWCF is seeking nominees for two awards: the Worker Co-op Best Practices Award, and the Mark Goldblatt Worker Co-op Merit Award.
The Worker Co-op Best Practices Award goes to a worker co-operative which has demonstrated best practices in governance and/or operations, including in upholding the values and principles of the co-operative movement within their co-operative, and has shared, or is willing to share their experience and learnings with other worker co-operatives in Canada.
The Worker Co-op Merit Award, named in honour of the late Mark Goldblatt, goes to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to worker co-operation in Canada. More information is available at this link. Nominations for both awards can be submitted via this form, and the deadline is September 3rd.
