Invitation to Research Project: Worker Co-ops led by Equity-Denied Groups

Put yourself on the map! Co-ops founded and led by Equity-denied groups (EDGs) – women, non-binary, Black, People of Colour, Indigenous Peoples, people with disabilities and immigrant communities are invited to take part in a research project!  CWCF is partnering with Dr. Julia Fursova of the University of New Brunswick and a Community Advisory Circle in conducting this research.

The research project will provide answers to the key question – what needs to change within the Canadian worker co-op movement to support and nurture the capacities and assets of the EDG-led co-ops?

As an EDG-led co-op, you are invited to take part in the ecosystem mapping to understand how to help worker co-ops led by diverse communities to thrive in the Canadian worker co-op ecosystem. The participation involves responding to a survey as a core group of co-op founders (e.g., Board of Directors) and an individual interview with a designated co-op member. Your co-op will be compensated with a $50 gift card for responding to a survey, and an individual participating in an interview will receive a $50 gift card (Indigo or Tim Hortons).

Put yourself on the map and express your priorities for support! To enroll in the research project, please get in touch with Dr. Julia Fursova julia.fursova@unb.ca
